Meeting of the ECTR delegation headed by Moshe Kantor with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov

The meeting was scheduled a day after the ECTR Round Table Meeting in Moscow, in order to discuss a large-scale conference on tolerance in Kazan (Russia) in 2012 to mark the International Day of Tolerance. It was an opportunity to familiarize the ECTR with the activities of the local government in favour of tolerance and inter-ethnic understanding in the Russian Federation.

Tatarstan is a federal republic within Russia located in the Volga Federal District. Its capital is the city of Kazan, which is one Russia's third largest and most prosperous cities. Tatarstan is also an example of peaceful coexistence of people of different origin and religion - Muslims, Orthodox, Catholic and Jews.
